Swim with Nicola - Terms & Conditions

1. Booking & Payment

• All lessons must be booked and paid for in advance to confirm your child’s place.

• Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable once the term has started.

• Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Spaces cannot be held without payment.

• Payment can be made via bank transfer, GoCardless, or other agreed methods.

2. Lesson Attendance

• Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your lesson start time.

• Lessons will start and finish promptly to allow time for changeover between classes.

• Missed lessons due to illness, holidays, or other commitments cannot be refunded or carried over.

• If a lesson is cancelled by Swim with Nicola (for example, due to teacher illness or pool maintenance), a replacement session or credit will be offered.

3. Supervision & Safety

• Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their child at all times outside of the pool area.

• Only the swimming teacher and participants are permitted in the pool unless otherwise stated.

• All non-swimmers and young children must be accompanied by an adult until handed over to the teacher.

• Please ensure your child uses the toilet before lessons and showers if possible.

• No running, diving, or unsupervised play around the pool area.

4. Health & Hygiene

• Children must not attend lessons if suffering from diarrhoea, vomiting, ear infections, or contagious illnesses.

• Any open wounds must be covered with a waterproof plaster.

• Long hair must be tied back, and appropriate swimwear should be worn.

• Nappies: All babies and toddlers not yet fully toilet trained must wear a double nappy system a disposable swim nappy with a neoprene swim nappy over the top.

5. Teacher & Lesson Delivery

• All lessons are delivered by qualified STA/Swim England teachers who hold up-to-date DBS, safeguarding, and first-aid certification.

• Teachers may occasionally vary or change due to illness, training, or staffing needs — cover teachers will always be qualified.

• Lesson plans and progression follow the STA “Swim Star” programme to ensure consistent development.

6. Behaviour & Progress

• Respectful behaviour is expected at all times. Disruptive or unsafe behaviour may result in temporary or permanent removal from lessons.

• Progress varies from child to child and cannot be guaranteed within a set number of sessions.

7. Pool Rules

• No outdoor shoes on poolside.

• Food, drink, or chewing gum are not permitted in the pool area.

• Please respect the pool and surrounding property — this is a private home facility.

8. Photography & Social Media

• Photos and videos are not permitted during lessons unless agreed by the teacher.

• Swim with Nicola may occasionally take photos/videos for promotional use (with separate consent).

9. Data Protection

• All personal information is held securely and used only for lesson administration and communication purposes.

• Data is not shared with third parties.

10. Cancellation by Swim with Nicola

• In rare cases (e.g. pool maintenance, illness, or unsafe conditions), lessons may be cancelled.

• Where possible, notice will be given, and an alternative lesson or credit will be arranged.

• Refunds will only be issued if no suitable replacement can be offered.
